On March 4-6, the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association co-hosted a Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF) workshop titled “Whole-of-Society Resilience Building, Preparation, and Response” in collaboration with Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Interior National Fire Agency, the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), the Australian Office, and the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei. At the opening ceremony, President Lai Ching-Te delivered his opening remarks.
At this workshop, Takashige Sato, Assistant Chief of Counselor to Fire Chief and Chief of the Life Safety Education Section at the Tokyo Fire Department, Japan, Yoshihiro Yamaguchi, Chief Professor of the Department of Traumatology and Critical Care Medicine, Kyorin University and Medical Coordinator of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and Hajime Mitachi, Chairman and CEO of Mitsubishi Corporation, Taiwan, presented on disaster and medical preparedness initiatives and international corporate response. Additionally, experts from Taiwan, the US, Australia, and Canada shared their expertise and experiences.
The Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association will continue to support the GCTF in its further development.
