The “Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF)” was launched by the United States and Taiwan in 2015 as a platform for the development of human resources. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the American Institute of Taiwan (AIT) host workshops on areas of common interest for the region such as public health and environmental issues and invite government officials and experts in their fields from different countries, mainly from Southeast Asia and Oceania, to promote the exchange of views and knowledge. The Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association firmly believes that the GCTF provides an effective platform for shared opinions and practical cooperation with Taiwan based on a common respect for the values of freedom and democracy. We have co-hosted all GCTF workshops since March 2019 and have strengthened our cooperative ties with the organization. We remain committed to continued collaboration for the further development of the GCTF and the expansion of our partnership.
