On April 14th, the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association co-hosted a GCTF virtual workshop titled Supply Chain Restructuring and SME Financing with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Taiwan), the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and the European Economic and Trade Office.

Chief Representative, Hiroyasu Izumi gave a speech at the opening ceremony. This seminar had two sessions. At the first one, Yasuki Todo, a professor from the Faculty of Political Science and Economics at Waseda University in Japan, presented his study on how we should form global value chains in the future in order to make supply chains more resilient. In the second session, there was more focus on business practice and Takeshi Kihara, General Manager of Taipei Taichung and Kaohsiung Branch, Mizuho Bank, Ltd shared his knowledge of cases of financial support when Japanese or Taiwanese companies start operations overseas.

He confirmed that we need to discuss the necessity of international cooperation in order to restructure the supply chain and continue to support each other. The Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association intends to continue to cooperate in order to encourage as many partners as possible to participate in GCTF.
