On September 13th, a Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF) workshop with the theme of Supply Chain Reset: Strategies for Reducing Vulnerability to Economic Coercion was held in Prague, Czech Republic and Hiroyasu Izumi, Chief Representative of the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association gave a speech at the opening ceremony by video.
This was the first GCTF workshop to be held in Europe and, in addition those from Japan, the US and Taiwan, participants from the Czech Republic included members of the Senate and the NGO, AMO. In his speech, Chief Representative Izumi stated that Taiwan shares fundamental values and is a trusted friend to Japan and an extremely important partner with close economic relations and people-to-people exchange.
Taiwan’s response to COVID-19 and its science and technology such as semiconductors are garnering a lot of focus from the international community, and he believes that the GCTF plays an important role as a platform on which to share knowledge and experience.
The Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association has been a full partner of GCTF since 2019 and will continue to cooperate in important initiatives in the future.
