On December 7th, the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association co-hosted the 8th Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF) Joint Committee with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Taiwan), the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and the Australian Office Taipei.

The Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association has been a full partner of GCTF since 2019 and has co-hosted hybrid workshops on digital crimes, gender-based violence, public health, sustainable oceans, smart agriculture, sustainable development, sustainable aviation, and experts in those field from Japan have participated. At this year’s Joint Committee, we reviewed this year’s GCTF activities and exchanged views on priority areas of cooperation as we transition back into in-person GCTF workshops.
Next year, there are plans to hold GCTF workshops in the fields of pandemic preparedness, sustainable development, sustainable aviation, law enforcement cooperation, humanitarian response and disaster relief, internet freedom, and maritime disasters.
