On December 6, the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association co-hosted the 9th Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF) Joint Committee with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Taiwan), the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and the Australian Office Taipei.
The Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association has been a full partner of GCTF since 2019 and has co-hosted workshops on anti-corruption, sustainable aviation, humanitarian response, sustainable development, maritime disasters measures, and human rights in the digital age, and experts in those fields from Japan have participated. At this year’s Joint Committee, we reviewed this year’s GCTF activities and exchanged views on priority areas of cooperation in 2024.
Next year, there are plans to hold GCTF workshops in the fields of sustainable development, combating transnational fraud, cybersecurity and telecom infrastructure, resilience building, net-zero economy and clean energy, and climate change in the ocean.
